How to Begin

Welcome to Leadership Boot Camp! This lesson gives an overview of what to expect, ways to engage, how to get support, and more.

For Discussion

Please take a moment to introduce yourself in 3 simple questions! 

• What roles do you play in this world? (Hi! I’m Irene and I’m a mom, wife, friend, daughter, sister, community builder, facilitator, teacher, leader, and coach.) 
• What lights you up? (I light up when I’m building community and when I’m encouraging the light in others to shine brighter. I also love paddle boarding, geeking out on science, reading books, cooking, playing games with my kids, teaching, and adventuring around the world.)
• What brings you to this course? (I wanted to offer the servant leaders in my tribe a course in all the things that I had to learn by trial and error and that is rarely offered at conferences, workshops, and training programs.)

For Experimentation

Every week I’ll offer you an experiment to try. Remember, for any invitation, experiment, or challenge I offer, you can respond “YES”, “NO”, or “I’m going to change it up to fit me better.” Whatever you choose to do or not do is perfect. 

So... between now and when the course actually begins, I would invite you to ponder what leadership means to you. What kind of leader are you now? And who do you want to be as a leader?
